Hello, I'm Linda Pritchard and welcome to my website!
In 1989 I ran 4,000 miles around the coast of the United Kingdom to raise money for cancer research. The run proved to be an epic adventure that took me to the very limit for my cause. There was severe weather in Scotland, a roadside bomb in Northern Ireland, stranded with no backup driver in Wales and injury problems in England. Running a near marathon distance on most days proved difficult enough, but fundraising and looking for accommodation also had its daily dramas.
This website gives a full account of my journey, the training involved, a daily diary with videos and photos, news reports and letters. There is also a section on actor Jeremy Brett, who was well known in the 1980's for his portrayal of Granada Television's Sherlock Holmes. He gave me a lot of encouragement and support throughout my run.
Why a website now and not before? Well there are a number of reasons;
* Life got busy after the run.
* Cancer has not gone away.
* I want to inspire people so that they can fulfil their potential and make their dreams come true
This website is dedicated to the millions of people around the world who are courageously fighting cancer, the people who raise money for cancer research and the scientists who we hope will find a cure to this appalling disease very soon.
I hope you find this website useful. Please let me know your thoughts on the Contact page.
